Truddi
Chase began therapy to discover why she suffered from blackouts. What
surfaced was terrifying: she was inhabited by 'the Troops'-92 individual
personalities. This groundbreaking true story is made all the more
extraordinary in that it was written by the Troops themselves. What they
reveal is a spellbinding descent into a personal hell-and an ultimate
deliverance for the woman they became.

Paris, July 1942: Sarah, a ten year-old girl, is brutally arrested with her family by the French police in the Vel' d'Hiv' roundup, but not before she locks her younger brother in a cupboard in the family's apartment, thinking that she will be back within a few hours.
Paris, May 2002: On Vel' d'Hiv's 60th anniversary, journalist Julia Jarmond is asked to write an article about this black day in France's past. Through her contemporary investigation, she stumbles onto a trail of long-hidden family secrets that connect her to Sarah. Julia finds herself compelled to retrace the girl's ordeal, from that terrible term in the Vel d'Hiv', to the camps, and beyond. As she probes into Sarah's past, she begins to question her own place in France, and to reevaluate her marriage and her life.
Hunger Games - Perfect 10!
Yes, it's true! The Hunger Games is now our highest rated book club read! With a perfect average score of 10. Wow! What a great book. Oona did a wonderful job keeping with the theme by serving lamb stew and wonderful cheeses and meats. I just wish I could've been there. I miss my book club :(
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

MARCH 2012: The Hunger Games

Twenty-four are forced to enter. Only the winner survives. In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. Each year, the districts are forced by the Capitol to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the Hunger Games, a brutal and terrifying fight to the death – televised for all of Panem to see.
Survival is second nature for sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who struggles to feed her mother and younger sister by secretly hunting and gathering beyond the fences of District 12. When Katniss steps in to take the place of her sister in the Hunger Games, she knows it may be her death sentence. If she is to survive, she must weigh survival against humanity and life against love.
